The Finns are wild about grilling. Not like an American neighourhood barbecue. No, the Finns grill on a real
fire with real wood and real flames! If possible in their own forest, on a safe place to not
burn it all down.
They take a long pointy stick, cut from a branch they find in the forest. On the stick they put
a makkara (Finnish sausage), which is called in Finland jokingly 'the finnish vegetable',
because it is so good for you, and also because they eat so much of it. This makkara on the stick you
make nicely brown in the fire. When ready it looks a bit ugly in a cute way, but boy, does it taste good:
with a little flavour of real smoke and fresh Finnish forest-air.
